The Sentry V1 is the long-awaited successor of the Compstick kite surf bars from Slingshot. The new Sentry V1 bar has everything what you can expect from a modern kitesurf bar but still feels like a real, solid, Slingshot bar.

To start with, the quick release system of the new Sentry bar has met the latest standards. The release system still works the same, by pushing the red part of the QR away from you. Then the kite will hang on one steering line and all the power is released from the kite, this is called single-line flag out. Re-assembling the QR is super simple, you simply click the loose end of the chicken loop back into the QR system and you will be back on the water within seconds.
Another major improvement is the system with which the power lines automatically spin apart. This is because the PU-coated depower line runs through the Slingshot Sentry bar in two parts. The two parts are separated in the bar. Just above your QR is a swivel that ensures that when your power lines are turned and you pull your bar back, your power lines twists apart effortlessly. This eliminates the need to untwist the power lines by hand.

The Singshot Sentry V1 bar itself has a soft EVA grip. The thickness of the bar has remained about the same, making the Sentry bar feel super solid as we are used to from the Slingshot bars. Left and right can be distinguished at a glance by a red (left) and white (right) color mark on the Sentry bar.
Slingshot got rid of the different Guardian and Sentinel bars. The Slingshot Sentry V1 uses a depower system above the bar similar to the previous Sentinel system. The system works with a clam cleat, you pull the rope for depower and let the rope release for more power. The Sentry V1 bar ends are soft and the thick black floaters give the Sentry bar an authentic Slingshot look. The Sentry V1 bar uses the same strong lines that Slingshot has been using for years. Slingshot releases the Sentry V1 bar in three different sizes: 17 ”(43cm) with 20m lines, 20” (50cm) with 20 + 3m lines and the 23 ”(58cm) with 27m lines.
The new Slingshot Sentry V1 bar has also been extensively tested by the ISO and is certified according to the ISO 21853 standards for kitesurf safety requirements.
