That model was tuned around a more pronounced rocker that mainly helped with short, tight turns in the steepest sections, a board that still works extremely well in powerful surf. For 2027, the rocker line has been made flatter and more efficient. You notice this immediately in the speed you generate and in how composed the board feels at higher speeds. The second change is in the construction. Instead of the carbon stringer, the board now uses a Carbon T-Stringer, which increases longitudinal stiffness and creates a sportier, more direct feel. The new colorway is an added bonus.

The rest of the SLS lay-up simply does what it is supposed to do. The +/- 45° glass fiber provides controlled flex that feels smooth and predictable through turns, exactly what you want when the wave is inconsistent. The full Innegra wrap reduces vibrations from choppy water and makes the board durable enough to handle the occasional mistake. Under your front foot, the Cork Shock Absorber 2.0 absorbs the impact of a landing or a heavy section without sacrificing your connection to the board. Compared to the Blur D/LAB, the SLS is slightly heavier and more forgiving, while also being considerably more affordable.
